SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FINANCE SUMMER ACADEMY

In the end of July, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management with the support of the Energy Department of UN Environmental Programme (UNEP), organized the Sustainable Energy Finance Summer Academy. 

During the 7-day training course the focus was on the necessary understanding of facts regarding the climate changes and the necessity of introducing energy efficient measures for all segments of life and business as well as using renewable energy.

The course covered the following topics:

•          Climate changes and their consequences on the worlds’ events
•          Potential and possibilities for investing into energy efficiency and renewable energy area
•          Legal issues, CO2 requirements and trade in CO2 certificates
•          Possibility of financing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects 

Čačanska banka as one of the most successful banks in financing energy efficiency projects at the Serbian banking market received a special invitation for active participation at the academy. On that occasion the Bank’s representatives exchanged experiences regarding planning and implementation of projects with representatives of other companies and banks such as KfW, Asian Development Bank, EuroHypo AG, South Africa Banking Organization, Siemens, GTZ and others.

Through the development of HIT ENERGY credit line in cooperation with KfW, Čačanska banka gives its maximum contribution to the promotion of energy efficiency and using renewable energy in business and retail sector.

Since the credit line started, more than 130 projects have been implemented in which emission of CO2 was reduced on average by 4,300 t annually which is expected to save energy of over 9 million kWh on a yearly basis.
